White Rabbit, Red Rabbit

6 Performances, 6 Theatres, 6 Actors!

In March 2012 Imploding Fictions and OIT presented a unique performance event taking place in six theatres across Oslo.

White Rabbit Red Rabbit is an explosive new play by Iranian dramatist Nassim Soleimanpour. Forbidden to travel, Soleimanpour has turned his isolation to his advantage and created a play to travel to the places he himself cannot. The play takes the form a sealed letter to an actor, and the seal is only broken once the actor steps onto the stage…

Each night the play is performed by a different actor who has never read the play and who has been told nothing about it. Each performance is  therefore totally unique!

White Rabbit Read Rabbit is theatre at its most live, exciting and urgent. Soleimanpour gives the actor instructions and guides him through the evening. He becomes a very real presence in the room, and yet he’s miles away in Tehran…
